2020 Summer Youth Conference Update

20 May 2020

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

We have been praying for this year's Summer Youth Conference and wanted to provide an update. With the Lord firmly on His throne, we will not be hosting a Summer Youth Conference this year. Not only has the Lord supplied His Word abundantly, but He also gives us abundant time to unite His Word with Faith. To exercise, experience, live out and work out, and more importantly to work it deep into us. Perhaps this is the Lord's reasoning for a sabbatical.

  • On May 19, 2020 the Ontario Government ordered that all Overnight camps in Ontario will not be permitted to operate in the summer of 2020. We are still in an extended state of emergency in Ontario which "prohibit organized public events and social gathering of more than five people, effective immediately... Organized public events include ...communal services within places of worship."
  • All publicly-assisted post-secondary institutions in Ontario have cancelled in-person classes and events. Redeemer University's campus - including outdoor recreation facilities - remains closed to the public, to students, and to non-essential employees.
  • As travel restrictions are still in effect: All persons entering Canada - no matter their country of origin or mode of entry - MUST isolate themselves for 14 days if they have symptoms of or confirmed COVID-19 or quarantine themselves for 14 days if they do not have symptoms of COVID-19.

We do thank brothers and sisters for their past and ongoing support for the youth through prayers. May the Lord really get what He is after during these times.

in Christ,

SYC Administration

Hebrews 4:2 For indeed we have had good news preached to us, just as they also; but the word they heard did not profit them, because it was not united by faith in those who heard.
